SALARY GOALS FOR CLASSIFIED

CSO - Classified Staff Org. | LCSC Meeting Minutes Strategic Planning Process Salary Goals Thank You's CSO Homepage PROPOSED SALARY GOALS FOR CLASSIFIED STAFF Classified : Hire in at no less than 15% below policy (currently the difference between minimum and policy is 18%; between policy and maximum is 25%) Entry level salary would be no less than 15% below and no more than 10% below policy DOQ except in extenuating circumstances. Within 5 years, assuming satisfactory performance, be at policy. Within 10-15 years in the same classification, assuming satisfactory performance, be at 15% above policy (which is currently 10% below the maximum) State Pay Scale Issues addressed through this plan Compression : By ensuring that good performers move to and beyond the median/policy, we alleviate some of the compression problem. State guidelines to address long term employees: Last year the state salary guidelines called for a focus on employees with five or more years of service who were not yet at policy. Because we had not really considered longevity in past salary allocation plans, we were only able to address people with 10 or more years of service. An ongoing, concerted effort to concentrate on this would allow us to maintain a reasonable connection between service and salary. Payline adjustments and automatic increases: This plan would hire classified at no less than 15% below policy, and the minimum is 18% below policy. By hiring at a rate slightly higher than the “bottom”, we are not affected as greatly by a pay line shift. This of course, affords us the opportunity to distribute our own salary allocation plan without “interference” from state mandates. Consistency between classes: Salary plans of each class of employees would be administered similarly. Each group has a median or midpoint and a salary range around that midpoint. While the benchmarks will of course be different, the concept is the same for each group. Longevity is currently not recognized: While longevity in and of itself is not sufficient reason for a salary increase, years of dedicated service by meritorious performers should have some impact on salary. Goal Program

International Seminar for Research and Teaching in Chemical Engineering and Physical Chemistry ENGLISH DEUTSCH FRANCE ESPAÑOL HOME | GOAL | PROGRAM | INSTITUTES | ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS | APPLICATION | PHOTOS Goal of the IS The goal of the International Seminar program is to assist the universities and national research laboratories from developing countries in their efforts to improve teaching and research in the fields of chemical engineering and physical chemistry. This is done by education of young scientists from these countries. After completing the 15 months program the participants should have: Become acquainted with modern, practical and scientific methods involved in their specialty area and expanded their knowledge and skills in theory and practice, Developed an ability for critical assessment regarding the possibility of integration of new methods under consideration of the existing conditions in the developing countries, Acquired the ability to pass on their expanded knowledge and skills to other specialists in their home countries. Through the combination of a relatively short period of scientific research time at a representative German Technical University with a customised scientific program the participants learn how to carry out research and to teach effectively in their specialized fields. Because of the relatively short length of stay of 15 months in Germany, favourable ratios between expenditure and benefit are achieved and a more timely transfer of their acquired knowledge is guaranteed. Further educational opportunities are provided to the participants to improve their expertise as future professors and as qualified scientists in research institutes for non-university purposes (research institutes, industry and agricultural areas). Many people benefit from the individual participants who act as multipliers for the successful transmission of their newly acquired knowledge. Up to 20 scientists from developing countries can participate in the yearly held seminars. Goals and Objectives Writing IEP Goals and Objectives Annual Goals Short Term Objectives Making Objectives Measurable IEP Resources Accommodations and Modifications Ask an IEP Question Common IEP Questions Inclusion Least Restrictive Environment Present Levels of Performance Service Models Strengths and Weaknesses Transition Writing Goals and Objectives Annual Goals Annual goals are measurable statements describing what a child can reasonably be expected to accomplish with specially designed instruction and related services in the next 12 months. They should be related to the present levels of performance and be written for specially designed instruction. The annual goals should specifically address the areas of the curriculum that are affected by the student's disability. An annual goal must be: measurable functional meaningful descriptive observable comprehensive Inappropriate Annual Goal Appropriate Annual Goal Jimmy will improve his reading skills. Jimmy will demonstrate reading skills at the 2nd grade level as identified in the general curriculum with 80% accuracy. Back to Top Short Term Objectives (Benchmarks) Benchmarks, or short term objectives, are measurable steps and criteria that reflect progress toward annual goals and meet the child's educational needs resulting from the disability. They are intermediate steps between the present levels of performance of a child with a disability, and the annual goals that are developed for that student. There must be at least 2 objectives for each annual goal, and should reflect the educational needs of the student listed on the first page of the IEP. Short term objectives: are measurable. specify the behavior to be performed. are general indicators of progress. often specify conditions under which the student will perform the behavior. may be a sequential or building block skill. often indicate a time frame. are a logical breakdown of the major components of an annual goal. may include projected dates to accomplish the skill or behavior and/or certain times when these will be demonstrated. Short term objectives should be based on annual goals and must state: Who - the person who will perform the behavior Will do what - The specific, measurable and observable behavior or skills to be performed, including a verb that tells what the student will do. Under what conditions - indicates what specific assistance will be given the student to accomplish the skill. May also include in what settings or circumstances the skill will be performed. How well - The level at which the student must perform the skill to accomplish the step for meeting the annual goal. May be expressed in fractions, percentages, frequency rates, scores, or phrases. Inappropriate short term objective Appropriate short term objective Susie will improve her addition skills. Susie will independently complete 15 two digit addition problems with 80% accuracy. Back to Top Making Objectives Measurable Many special educators have difficulty making IEP objectives measurable. The first step is to make sure that the student's present levels of performance are expressed clearly. Then, make the objective measurable by defining it in terms of something that you can count or observe. This can be expressed as a grade or age performance level, percentile, or result of the behavior. Not Measurable Measurable Susie will improve her reading skills. Susie will improve her decoding skills and reading comprehension to the 3rd grade level. Tony will complete his class assignments. Tony will complete 80% of the modified daily assignments in the regular classroom. Back to Top Welcome Visitor Number DISCLAIMER Last modified: 05/29/02
